Gossip: nidle talk or rumor, esp. about the personal or private affairs of others
I know it's almost second nature for us females to feel like we have to gossip or talk about others. In reality, it's a waste of time, energy, & creativity. I'm no saint & I know that, but I've come to realize that I have so many other things to do than criticize others. I can't stand when I hang out with someone, or I'm around someone, that holds conversations for hours just talking about other people.

Gossip does not show how tough you are with your words. Gossip does not show how creative you are with your insults. It also does not show how much better you are compared to the next person. Gossip is built on jealously & insecurity. It's a reflection of how you see yourself. If you live life focused, you wouldn't mind what the next person is doing. If it doesn't concern with anything you do, why bother to shine light on it?

When you have time to talk about others, you obviously don't have anything better to do. Ladies (& gents), seriously, find a hobby, create something, do anything! Most importantly, learn to love yourself. Once you find peace of mind, you won't worry about anything else.

-Who cares about what that girl is wearing, if you're not wearing it, why are you concerned?
-So what if she copied what you did, imitation is the best form of flattery.
-She slept with him, who slept with her, who slept with her(?!), & then him?!?!?!?! Unless you're the one worried about unprotected sex, why get tangled in that mess?

If something is concerning you enough to talk about it, why not go straight to the problem & talk to the person you're concerned with?

Bottom line is if you don't have anything good to say, don't say it at all. Well actually, you CAN say whatever you like, but like I said, it only reflects your insecurities.

  1. Wow Kate your absolutely right. Its wrong and not healthy but worst of all none of anyone's business to be doing! I feel horrible :( I never like being in peoples conversations unless its positive, so I shouldn't do it about others.

  2. I disagree. Gossip doesn't mean your jealous of anyone, it is different when you "gossip" about someone you once cared for, someone that showed you love and then became fake. Gossip doesn't always surround jealousy and insecurity because if you're disgusted by someone, or if that person did something to you in a messed up manner, that's a different story.

  3. Why are you anonymous?

    @ Lei
Jealously isn't something we want to admit, especially when we're talkin' smack about someone, but I do believe it plays a factor. I admit when I say I was jealous of a girls courage because she had she had the balls to call herself a model. I would waste my time looking at what she was doing & talking about her because I was jealous at the fact that she had determination to be something society told her she couldn't.

Any kind of gossip is still a waste of time. When you allow yourself to put energy towards someone's behavior or looks or whatever they're doing that you're not, it's still not a good look on you.

Say you are disgusted by someone or if that person did something to you in a messed up manner, what's the point in gossip. So you can feel good about yourself? Why not go straight to the problem and confort them about it instead of saying it behind their back?

All I'm saying is, the less you talk about people in a negative light, the more time you have to better yourself.
