FEMΔLE GONE ROGUE OF THE WEEK: Virginia

Every week FGR will feature motivated, creative, & beautiful females for you all to get familiar with. For the first couple of weeks, I'll be spotlighting my Female Mafia.

After I've done all of my girls, I'll be looking out for some strong females out there! Until then, here's my crew!

Starting with...
Virginia

1. What is the best part of being a female?
The best part of being a female is our preconceived fragile demeanor and curvy attributes that lets us get away with the occasional speeding ticket ("Sorry officer I didn't know trying to get back to the future was illegal!"). But with the recent legendary Victoria's Secret semi-annual sale I have got to say the best part of being a female is the adornment of lingerie. Nothing amounts to the feeling of barely there pieces of lace and silk that makes you embrace your body and proud to be a female.

2. Who is your role model?
My role model from the day I graced earth with my presence to my slowly maturing current age of 20 has been and will always be my "Mẹ". The woman that raised me, cared for me and loved me unconditionally though all my shit head teenage angst shenanigans & never strayed from her own character as a female who upholds her own traditional values and supports her family.

3. Who is your fashion icon?
Fashion icons, like the trends it self, change from time to time but Miss Lawn has been consistently holding it down in the corner as the undefeated champ of style in my book. Lanie Alabanza, the bo$ bitch of the all too well known brand Hellz Bellz stands out as one of my icons because of her talent of mixing androgyny and being a minx on point! Straw boat hats, fluorescent magenta lips, masculine footwear, refreshingly original silhouettes of unisex tops and scandalous ways of rockin geometric shapes have without a doubt have me worshiping the ground she walks.

4. Ethnicity/ Where are you from?
I am full Vietnamese American, hailing from the best of the west coast: The notorious, hyphy, and damn straight "hella" dope Bay Area. Specifically south side San Jose! You know us California girls, we're undeniable.

5. Where is your favorite place to shop?
My favorite places to shop or retail therapy as I like to call it have admittedly been the usual Forever 21 and H&M. Those damn sale prices always get to me and blind me from the one day warranty quality. But the places I find most rewarding are the sidewalk boutiques/consignment shops located in the various downtowns of Santa Cruz or Mountain View that I always forget the name of. They're cozy with their personal touches of decor and usually carry more interesting pieces. Plus no lines for the fitting rooms, holla!

6. What do you do on your free time?
Including work and school, my free time goes to documenting my joys in life and making the most of everyday. Whether it be a an SLR or phone camera capturing flying pigs in the sky or a mental note to write down a paragraphs worth on how boys suck in general as usual, I want to make sure I always have something to look back on and something to learn to move forward. Cheesy personal philosphy: No matter who you are and what you do, your life is a long and rich story to tell. Personal blog = Laissez Votre Marque (Leave Your Mark)

7. Favorite era
The swinging 1960's. First and foremost the 60's led me to my odd attraction for the Kennedys. Then there's The Beatles, Bob Dylan, London's anarchist punk rock scene, The Kinks, Star Trek, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Andy Warhol & Twiggy, Pop art, Pop culture, and the invention of the mini skirt.

8. Music/ What are you currently into?
I'm pretty open to all sorts of music genres. I can gig hard to hardcore bay area rap, chill with jaz hop instrumentals, reminisce over 90's bubblegum pop, and mosh to any band whose name starts with "the". But right now I won't deny it I am obsessed with the addicting and dramatic productions of KPOP, Korean pop music. Compared to a feature length film, their music videos can make me bawl within three minutes. Oh and disregarding their pokemon hair, those KPOP boys know chivalry ain't dead. Saranghae!

9. Plans for the future?
Plans for the future consist of conquering the world and little else. But real talk, I'm just everyday hustling to get my higher education fulfilled and eventually pinpoint that one niche in society I belong to. From there it's travel travel travel, I want to see the world. Can't conquer it without a little visual experience yadidamean?

10. How do you feel about FGR? / What do you want to bring to the table?
Female Gone Rogue is female deviance at it's finest. To the supreme round table of growing female mafia members, I hope to bring more crimes for us to commit against the bay area for our unheard of class, beauty, and intelligence. And some photoshop skills here & there. All with a little mischief.

Well there you have it. Our very first FEMALE GONE ROGUE OF THE WEEK! Until next week!
