ΔDVENTURES WITH WHIT: My 4th of July Weekend

hello, FGR readers! I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July weekend as much as i did!(: to be honest, I didn't really think too much of it so I really didn't make any plans - I thought that i was going to be stuck at home for the 4th. but, as always, i kinda just rolled with the punches on this one & let me tell you, i think this was the best 4th of July that i've ever had, no exaggeration! i spent it with the homies & bestfriends - it was beautiful.

FRIDAY
Friday I got a call from my god son's mom inviting me to her pad for a little kick back type of shindig. It was a typical apartment party; lots of booze, blunts, & well... you know the rest. lol JP! So I decided to go, but left around 11pm.

Of course there was beer...

and you can't have beer and not play beer pong. That just can't happen according to all professional alcoholics out there ;)

SATURDAY

My parents went to Indiana for the weekend & I had the house all to myself. I had work from 2pm - 4pm, talk about being in a good mood! After work I chilled at home all alone! No putter, no parents, & no brother. Just a big silent, empty house.

SUNDAY
I cleaned up my entire house & found myself getting dressed to go to my best friend's house in Maryland. I had to make to make a stop at steetz to pick up the usual; pepsi, fiji water, combination skittle, & a bacon, egg & cheese breakfast croissant. After the stop, I was on my way to my bestie's to watch fireworks at the National Harbor in Alexandria, VA.

at first, we all met up at the dorsey's house. we sat around and chit chatted like old times in the kitchen before we all ventured off to go view the fireworks. we finally left at around 7 or 8 so that we could get a nice spot & indeed that is what we found! (:

we parked in the national harbor parking lot & still we needed to walk a ways to get to our destination. it was the longest walk ever but i most definitely enjoyed spending quality female to female time with my two of three best friends...

this is erin and courtney - the third bff is tammy (she is clearly not pictured... she joined us later on) back in the day we went by a name of the Fantastic 4 - and believe it or not, that is truely what we were known as... F4 - an inseperable, small group of females that were and still are down for whatever, whenever. it's definitely been more than 5 years of friendship and even though we are getting older, we can still pick up where we left off. but anyways, yes - this is erin and courtney on our adventure to watch the fireworks!

oh yeah, and in case you haven't noticed yet, Courtney rolls with the minorities. white on the outside, black on this inside - hahaha. my girl :D

we finally get to the area where were gonna sit, we could either go right or left, but the right was way too crowded so we decided to go left toward the bridge... until we found this amazing, exclusive spot. it was absolutely perfect- when i saw it, my eyes lit up & immediately got excited for the show to start! it was a beautiful litte beach area that faced the location where they were gonna shoot of the fireworks! to the left was that actual harbor where all restaurants & bars were... to the right was where the bridge sat... both nicely lit with a beautiful sunset to set the mood just right for an enjoyable night with the girls...

so after the show, we started to head back home after walking for an hour and sitting in traffic for two - and i had to pee...

...definitely needed to take a detour to a Wendy's to satisfy my hunger from the 7 mile hike we took...

then a detour to Safeway to rent a movie - The Crazies

after our adventure to the store, we headed back to Erin's pad to enjoy the movie(it wasn't that great.... at all, but whatever). I left the next morning at 1130am to be home in time to get ready for school at PMTS.

My 4th was pretty legit. Even though I wish I could've also spent some of that time with my other partners in crime bri & d. it was cool, I still had a lot of fun. I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday as much as I did!
