FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Opportunity

Opportunity -- don't you just love the sound of that word ? I do, that's for sure!
Can you remember a time coming across an amazing opportunity but you just sort
of pass it up maybe because of you financial situation, your confidence level, or maybe even because of pure laziness? shoot, to be truthfully honest i am definitely guilty of that one.
Many times we don't realize a great opportunity when we have one - we don't really know
how something could affect us until we have been there done that. I used to be the type of girl to just dust off great opportunities because i was lazy, or because i felt like another one just like it would come later. But, over the years i have learned to take those opportunities by the horn and roll with the punches. by challenging yourself with new tasks, you will grow a lot more & learn a lot more. old doors will shut, and new doors will open... it's just up to you which door you are gonna walk through first - it's like a chain reaction. accept a challenge, conquer that challenge, more challenging ones come... etc. so, why not? i think it's a great way to move up in life.

the reason i am writing about opportunity tonight, is simply because i was offered to join the phase two team in my school at PMTS. Phase Two is basically just the next level up in my future professional career - i will be able to deal with more clients in a night, build my clientele, learn to be more creative and free with my cuts and colors, charge more (:] lol), and things of that nature. i am so excited to start, i can't even wait! i think that phase two will help me gain more confidence with my work and help me be more successful once i open up my own salon one day (so stay tuned for that ;]). believe it or not, i actually have low self esteem, so taking this opportunity i think will help me with that.

i will not make this post too long, but i just wanted to share with you a victory that i have & hopefully inspire those who are kind of in the same situation as i am or are having challenges with confidence to continue forth with what they love and accept the opportunities that are thrown in your path. really, what is the worst thing that could happen ?! nothing too bad, i'm sure!

until next time, FGR readers <3
