Robin Miriam Carlsson "Robyn" is a Swedish singer-songwriter. At 12 years old, Robyn recorded the theme song for the Swedish tv show Lilla Sportspegeln called "Du kan lltid bli nummer ett (You can always be number one). She performed her first self-written song on another television show called Söndagsöppet. Later on, Robyn was rediscovered by Swedish pop singer Meja. Meja and her band Legacy of Sound visited Robyn's school and were involved with a musical workshop. Meja was impressed and enjoyed her performance, that they arranged for Robyn and her parents to meet with their manager. After middle school, Robyn signed to Ricochet Records Sweden, which is similar to BMG. She got the opportunity to collaborate with producers Max Martin and Denniz Pop.
Robyn became well known in the late 90s for her dance-pop hits "Show Me Love" and "Do You Know (What It Takes)". Robyn entered Melodifestivalen 1997 as songwriter with the entry "Du gör mig hel igen" (You make me whole again). She has since started to gain mainstream success with her hit single "With Every Heartbeat" and subsequent album release. In the beginning of 2009, Robyn won a Swedish Grammis award for Best Live Act 2008.
She released her first album since 2005 this summer titled "Body Talk Pt. 1". The albums lead single "Dancing on My Own" was released a few weeks prior to the albums release, and became a hit single worldwide, including in the UK which was charted UK Top 10. A follow up album, Body Talk Pt. 2 is due for release in September. There will be a duo by Snoop Dogg himself in the album. Speak Your Body: Body Talk Pt. 3 is expected to be released in December 2010.
I really enjoy every track in Part 1. It gets me super pumped for the day. The track I enjoy the most is "Non Of Dem." The video for the song hasn't been released yet so this is the next best thing. Listen to the beat and the lyrics. Then you'll get it. Robyn is the issh! The sleep on this!
