RΔNDOM ΔCT OF KINDNESS: Homeless Woman

I work at Tapioca Express. Today at work, a homeless woman came in, ordered a drink that was sort of expensive and tipped us a dollar.

My coworker proceeded to tell me, "Can you believe it? She's homeless and she tipped us. What is she trying to do? Cover up that she's homeless?" And she laughs.

And I'm thinking to myself, "Yeah... she's homeless. And she tipped us."

Later when we were closing, I took out the trash and next to the dumpster I see the same lady getting ready to sleep. Next to the dumpster.

Now, you're all probably lost reading this and wondering what this has to do with a random act of kindness. But think about it. This woman has virtually nothing. All that she has can be carried with her everywhere she goes. She sleeps next to dumpsters at night and probably gets just a few dollars on a good day. And yet she can still spare a dollar to tip the people who made her a drink. She can still share what she has, even if it is nearly nothing.

If a homeless woman can spare a dollar to tip, why can't we spare some money to donate?
