Δ WORD FROM SUNSHINE

People always ask me...
"What's the point of Female Gone Rogue?"

Time to break it down for everyone...

At first I wanted to create a blog with only myself. I wanted to talk about what I know best and that's, being a female. I was going to use it like a normal blog with my pictures, thoughts, ideas, inspirations & show that I'm proud to be a female. The point of this blog isn't to shove feminist ideas down people's throats. It was made because these ladies have inspired me one way or another. I wanted them to share their mind & show off their free spirits. The more the merrier! I felt that with me all by myself, it wouldn't be as strong as it would be with me & 17 other ladies.
As for this comment from an a n o n y m o u s person (in response to Whit's post FGR RULE 004), my response? I'm sorry. I'm sorry my girl likes to cook & clean for her man, but if you read ahead she says "or woman" as well. What you quoted is taken out of context. This blog isn't perfect & she didn't write "or woman" every single time, but that was her example. Some feminist actually do like catering to their lover. It might not be your ideal girl power type of blog, but that's why we're here, to change things up a bit. The thing about this blog is, I told the girls to share their thoughts, their feelings & inspirations. There's no rules or regulations as far as trying to become this "stereo typical" feminist blog. If she loves to cook & clean for her man, she'll cook for her man.

Another thing... I'm sure you're super fascinated with our sense of fashion & party lifestyle's because you're obviously not reading anything else. Only thing I can say to you is that you can hop on the boat or not. FGR is sailing away with or without you. This is just the beginning of something great & I'd hate for you to fall behind because you don't think this blog is "feminist" enough.

& honestly, I hate the word feminist because it carries a negative connotation to those who don't understand it. Most people see feminist as man-hating women, but that's not the case at all(Jessica will break that down for you in a further post). It's simply believing the idea that genders should be treated equally.

"When it comes down to it, I let them think what they want. If they care enough to bother with what I do, then I'm already better than them."

P.S. Shout out to my lover for everything he has done for me. You've molded my mind & helped create the person I am today. Without you this blog would be nothing. Sorry we got into an argument about this blog, but you were right & your point was... on point. Love you, forever & always. I owe you one... or two. ;]
