MUSIC: Northshore Vs On Directing

Tegan & Sara are twin sisters from Canada & write their songs separately(with exception of there single paper back head on the sainthood album which is the first song they both wrote together for an album). Whoever writes the song usually will sing the lead vocal for it. I recently read an interview with Tegan where she said some fans were fans of them seprately. Some people who were more fans of the songs by Sara and Vice versa for herself.

I found it interesting and thought about the saying "Twin Minds Think Alike". When listening to the songs & watching their recent videos, that saying couldn't be more wrong. Northshore is by Tegan and she wanted a punk feel to the video. She wanted to just rock out and have a very simple background of pictures from their old albums to add texture. In contrast, On Directing by Sara is still a simple video, but filled with complex lighting and camera angles. Not that there is a drastic difference in their songs, but I like the fact that their twins yet, you can see their individual minds come out, while still at the same time being cohesive. Also, I just love their music.
