FGR STYLE: Nail Game PT.1

One of mine & Sunshine's hobbies, just like all you 'Oh you fancy, huh' women out there, is to get our nails done. Plain is gravy, my favorite simple look would have to be cotton candy pink. Sometimes I get the ring fingers done a different design than the rest, all one design, or a different design on every nail. I'm real big about my nails, so I wanted to share a few nail tips on having your 'toes done up with the fingernails to match'.

FGR'S TIPS ON GETTING YO' NAILS DID
  1. BRING A PICTURE. It's always easier to get your nails done by having the specific design you want, and the easiest way would be to bring a picture. That way the lady will have your nails on point in no time, AND will most likely fix any errors if it doesn't match the way you want it.
  2. GO TO A LEGIT NAIL SHOP. Some places suck, some places are the best. You can only find the right place for you through experience! Go around and try new places, your best bet to the perfect nail shop would be Yelp!. I've found nail shops that do Japanese nail art through Yelp and it was such a success. It also helps when you have access to their number, shop hours, and prices!
  3. DON'T BE AFRAID TO SPEAK UP. If they're not doing your nails right, let them know. You may get the impression that they're upset or "talking" about it, but in the end you're paying them therefore, you need your nails on point and not sloppy. Again, do not hesitate on asking them to file an end, or add more polish!
  4. PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE RIGHT AMOUNT. Nails ain't cheap, depending where you get them. My advice is to have an amount you're willing to spend, and ask them how much your design is going to be before you get them done. It's very likely they'll be pretty pricey if you want the bling-bling going and pearls. But if you're getting them airbrushed or painted one color, $30.00 is good to go. Remember, prepare yourself!
  5. LASTLY, BE SANITARY. Cleanliness is super important when it comes to going to the nail shop. I've heard stories where the nail lady filed to a girl's skin and fungus grew under the acrylic, to people getting rashes from tools not being clean. Always, always, always read reviews on a shop's hygiene! If there's a place you're not too sure about but their designs are too rogue to say no to, get them done (fill, tips, full set) at a place you trust and just get them designed at the place you have in mind. That way all they can do is work the top instead of scaring you away with dirty nail tools.
