It's that time again! NY Fashion week starts next week, where around 90 designers will display their Spring 2011 collections. However, this year the Fashion industry hopes that it will be bigger than ever. With many changes & events, their hopes may just come true.
One of the biggest changes this year is the location. It's no longer at Bryant Park, but instead the exstravaganza is now being held at the Lincoln Center. Also, September 7th at the Lincoln Center, they are holding the world's largest Fashion show consisting of around 200 models, over 1500 guest & where Fall 2010's Top Fashion Trends will be on display.
This event is an effort to promote the FNO:Fashions night out which is happening world wide Sept 10th 2010. Fashions night out started last year and Anna Wintour (editor and chief of vogue) says that its purpose is to get people excited about fashion again.
FNO is where many stores hold events & sell exclusive merchandise. A day where people can go out and well...shop. In New York there are hundreds of events that consist of celebrity and designer speakers and interaction such as the Olsen twins and Sarah Silverman. Also, designers unveiling special collection pieces. Wintour talks of the New York event as the desingners being available to the consumer in a way that never has happened before.
