ROGUE MUSIC | SHOW: Justin Nozuka Band

By: Rosebuhd

Remember when I did that post on Justin Nozuka? Well, I went to his show on Friday (which was my 5th time seeing him live; yes, I'm a HUGE fan) with one of my friends from school (her first time), and I have to say, it was the best show I've been to. Not only was he and the band great, but the crowd was great and so enthusiastic for him.
First of all, the show was in San Francisco, who doesn't LOVE SF?!
Second, while we were waiting in line for the show to start, we were lined up next to the tour bus and every member of the Justin Nozuka Band walked out into it. That's right, Justin Nozuka walked right by us and I made a fool of myself. Haha. We also spent at least 15 minutes talking to the bassist, Anthony. He was definitely a cool guy, really down-to-earth and humble, (even though he has a rockstar life) and hella funny.
He rocks... literally.
She's a down ass female! Mi amiga.
The other people love him (almost) as much as I do; he's not mainstream, so they really are HIS fans. One of my favorite parts was when he sang "Sorry," a song that is not on either of his albums, and the crowd sang along verbatim. Ohh! and when he started kinda jerkin' during a cover of Bill Withers with the opener, Ry Cuming. (I will be posting that on YouTube.)

Let me introseduce you to the Justin Nozuka Band.
This cutie pie is Alex Tanas, the drummer. He's the only one I haven't met, but he seems like he'd be very chill. His singing was great. ;]

Anthony Lavdanski slappin' da bass.
Yes, I did yell, "You slap that bass, Anthony!"
He laughed, tehe.

Mark Pellizzer, he's the guitarist and keyboardist... at the same time! He's amazing, and the SWEETEST guy. We got to meet him for just a little bit outside, and he was so shy but happy at the same time. =]

Last, but not least, Mr. Justin Nozuka. He's uninhibited up on stage, not ripping off his shirt (I wish) but he doesn't really care if he looks like a fool dancing on stage and he's not worried about if he looks attractive while singing his heart out. That confidence makes him 130 times more attractive.

Here's why I love going to Justin's shows:

1) He sounds AMAZING live, just like on his albums. That's not saying that he performs them exactly the same as on his album, no, they make some changes, but that guy can really, genuinely SING.

2) The Justin Nozuka Band are REALLY talented guys, and fantastic people!

3) I love that he interacts with the audience.

4) He always has fantastic people on tour with him (Ry Cuming, who is changing tours to be with Kina Grannis!).

5) He has fun surprises or songs.

6) It's always a fun and different experience with amazing people, and that's what life's all about.

This is a video I took of the last song that he did for the night. It's called, "Soulless Man," and I've never seen him play the piano before, so I might've freaked out just a little bit.
