WΔRNING: Sunscreen May Promote Cancer

by Jessica

If you have been using any of these brands of sunscreen/sunblock:
  • Fruit of the Earth
  • Walgreens
  • Ocean Potion
  • No-Ad
  • Neutrogena
  • Hawaiian Tropic
  • Coppertone
  • Banana Boat
You have been exposing your skin to even greater chances of cancer and hormone-disrupting chemicals.

Most of these products have a version of Vitamin A in it called retinyl palmitate that may escalate skin damage and elevate chances of skin cancer. The presence of this in your skin exposed to the sun's rays cause biochemical changes that result in cancer.

Another ingredient to stay away from in these sunblock brands is oxybenzone which disrupts hormones, especially in females. This is found in 60% of tested sunblock brands and types.

Notice all of the ultra high numbered SPFs out there lately? 100+? No studies have been found to prove that the higher the SPF, the greater the sun protection. In fact, the higher the SPF the less protection. These numbers give false hope in consumers as they fail to reapply throughout their long exposure to the sun. High SPF does NOT equal longer protection.

And remember, to always be careful of what you buy. Read the ingredients and research what they are. Happy Tanning!
